Virtual Swiss Alps 800 FAQ
I registered for the 800KM challenge but realize that it's too much for me. Can I switch over to the 400KM challenge?
YES. If you wish to switch from the 800KM to the 400KM simply email us at rd@swissalps100.com and let us know. When you switch then your total distance will be reset to 0 (zero) the moment you've been switched.
Do I have to run 8.6km (5.3 miles) for the 800KM or 5.2km (3.3 miles) for the 400KM each day, or can I break it up and run more on the weekends?
You can run or walk as much or as little as you want on a given day.
Do I have to run the whole way?
No. You can run or walk.
How will I report my kilometer or miles?
Once this challenge starts you can click the link "Submit KM/Miles" above where you can submit your kilometers or mileages.
Are the shirts unisex or gender specific and what are the sizes?
It is a unisex shirt. The available sizes are XSmall, Small, Medium, and Large.
Do I need a GPS watch/tracker, or Strava? Will I need to show my watch or device for proof of running?
You do not have to show any proof of your running. We are using a honor system and there are no additional awards given for running faster or further.
If I ordered the medal will I get it for sure?
In order to earn your finisher's medal, you'll have to finish 800k or 400k latest on August 16, 2020. However, if you really want your medal regardless how far you get email us at rd@swissalps100.com and let us know.
When do I get the shirt or the finisher's medal?
As soon as you reach 400KM or 800KM during the challenge, we will mail you your shirt and medal. If on August 16, 2020 you have not reached 400KM or 800KM, depending which challege you signed up for, we will mail you your shirt.
Are there any other awards or goodies?
After the challenge you will be able to see and print out your challenge certificate right here on this website.
If I register after the challenge started, can I add all of my distances to where the challenge started?
NO. If you register before the challenge started, your mileage begins on the start of the challenge. If you register after the challenge started, your mileage begins on the date you register.
Do treadmill miles count?
Yes. A mile is a mile.
Do elliptical miles count?
N0.
I live outside of Switzerland, can I still participate?
Absolutely! Everybody on the world is welcome to join me.
