Is there a chance that the 2021 event will be canceled due to COVID-19?

It's extremely unlikely that the 2021 event will be canceled as it happened in 2020. We very much plan to put on the event in way way or another either in full force, if it is safe to do so, or with some restrictions. By April 1, 2021, we will be posting our COVID-19 updates on the website. If we have to follow COVID-19 guidelines, then you can read the changes to the event in those updates.

We track participants by a GPS tracking device runners will receive when they check-in and family/friends can track their runners in real-time using the tracking app. During the race we provide well stocked aid stations. All 50KM and 100KM finishers get a medal and all 100 mile finisher get a sub-24 antic silber or sub-48 antic brass buckle.

We will print your name on your bib but you will have to register before July 15th.

How are you tracking the runners?

Each runner will receive a GPS tracker which has to be carried at all times. That way we always know the exact location of each runner at any time. Family and friends will be able to track their runners with a special app. Check out the tracking page for more info.

What is the course upgrade/downgrade policy?

If you are already registered and you want to either upgrade or downgrade your registration then you can do that until July 1st. If you downgrade your registration, for example from the 160KM to the 100KM, we will not be able to refund you the difference of the entry fee. If you upgrade your registration, like from the 50KM to the 100KM, then we will charge you the price difference. Runner will not be able to change their race distance after July 1st - no exceptions!

What is the refund policy?

No refunds if the event needs to be canceled due to natural disasters or pandemics.

What is the qualification to run the Swiss Alps 100?
Do runners need a medical certificate?

We will not ask for a medical certificate from our runners if they want to run the Swiss Alps 100.

What about insurance?

Evacuation by helicopter are not free in Switzerland and in 2019 we had to resque one runner which costs him $7000. The race organization will make the choice of evacuation of an injured runner. For that reason we highly recommend that each race participant should have personal accident insurance sufficient to cover the cost of search and rescue Switzerland. The insurance policy must be valid at least for the duration of the race.
