virtual Swiss Alps FAQ

I've signed up for the challenge, but I realise it's too much for me. Can I change to the next lower distance?
NO. We did that last year and it was confusing. So this year you can only upgrade.
Can I upgrade my distance once the virtual race has started?
YES. You can upgrade your distance at any time during the virtual race for free by emailing us at rd@swissalps100.com.
Do I have to run the average kilometre of my distance every day or can I break it up and run more at the weekend?
You can run or walk as much or as little as you like on any given day.
Do I have to run the whole distance?
No. You can run or walk.
How do I report my kilometres or miles?
Once the challenge begins, you can click on the "Submit KM/Miles" link above to submit your kilometres or miles.
Do I need a GPS watch/tracker or Strava? Do I need to show my watch or device to prove I have run?
You do not need to provide any proof of your run. We run on an honour system and there are no additional awards for running faster or further.
If I order the medal, will I get it?
To receive your finisher medal, you'll need to complete the full challenge distance on 10 August 2025. If you don't complete the required total distance, you will not receive your medal.
If I register after the start of the challenge, can I add all my distances to the start of the challenge?
NO. If you register before the start of the challenge, your miles will start from the start of the challenge. If you register after the start of the challenge, your mileage will start on the day you register.
Do treadmill miles count?
Yes, treadmill miles count. A mile is a mile.
Do elliptical miles count?
No.
I live outside of Switzerland, can I still participate?
Absolutely you can! Anyone in the world is welcome to join.
